They are so easily available in any Indian city/town and the variety you have is endless.

These ‘Masala Cheese Corn Chaat’ are an extremely popular Indian street food, especially during this season.

It’s a mix of tangy, spicy, and sweet flavors and goes perfectly with hot chai whether you are alone or enjoying with loved ones.

It’s also a BIG BIG hit with kids because of it tangy-sweet flavors.

Ingredients for Masala Cheese Corn Chaat 

As mentioned above, this is a lighter recipe and can be made within 15 minutes. Whether you have frozen or fresh corn, it’s absolutely simple. Here’s what you need:

  • Sweet Cornfresh or frozen blanched variety.
  • Fresh Corianderyou can use cilantro too
  • CheeseI’m using light parmesan.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice – you can use store-bought too.
  • Green Chili – optional
  • Seasoningsalt, red chili powder, chaat masala

How to Make Masala Corn Chaat:

You can make them with either frozen sweet corn kernels or fresh ones. Just keep in mind, if using frozen, then you need to thaw them beforehand.

Then squeeze excess water out of it using a sieve or cloth.

Then we slightly cook the corn to remove that rawness (has to be done for either variety being used).

Then add the cooked corn, seasoning, lemon juice, cilantro, cheese in a large bowl.

Mix everything using a large spoon/fork.

Do the taste test for seasoning or cheese.

And you are ready to serve them

You can serve them hot or cold, as either work as per your taste.

They work great as Picnic snacks/potluck appetizers or light lunches too.

These can be stored in fridge for upto 2 days.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Sweet Corn Kernels - fresh or frozen blanched variety.
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Fresh Coriander - you can use cilantro too
  • 5 Tbsp Shredded Cheese - I'm using light parmesan.
  • 3 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice - you can use store-bought too.
  • 1 Green Chili - optional

Seasoning :

  • 2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp Pink Salt
  • 2 Tsp Chaat Masala

Instructions

Cook the Sweet Corn:

If using Frozen Corn:

  1. Thaw the sweet corn and squeeze off all the water from it using a sieve or cloth.
  2. Heat a pan and add 2 Tbsp Oil.
  3. Add the sweet corn and saute for 5 minutes on medium flames (you want to slightly cook the sweet corn to release that rawness).
  4. Turn off the heat.

If using Fresh Corn:

  1. Remove the corn kernels.
  2. Heat a pan and add 2 Tbsp Oil.
  3. Add the sweet corn and saute for 5 minutes on medium flames (you want to slightly cook the sweet corn to release that rawness).
  4. Turn off the heat.

Make the Masala Cheese Corn Chaat:

  1. In a large bowl, add cooked sweet corn, chopped cilantro, lemon juice, seasoning, green chili (optional), and cheese.
  2. Mix everything using a spoon/fork.
  3. Do the taste test and check for seasoning.
  4. Serve fresh or you can even heat it slightly or keep it in the fridge and serve cold.
