Quick, easy and festive Cranberry Orange Christmas Margarita are perfect for your Christmas or Festive Parties. Made light using cranberry juice, sparkling orange water, ginger, and tequila. Also known as ‘Mistletoe Margarita’ and perfect for small/large parties.
Christmas is just around the corner and sharing my favorite Christmas Tequila Drink – Cranberry Orange Christmas Margarita!!
They are simply DELICIOUS, Easy, Crowd Pleaser, and the best of all – made light for you to have that second glass or so.
If you have been reading my blog for some time now, you know that Margarita would somehow end up in our party menu and How can I let go of my favorite Christmas party without one 😉
Also, as many of our friends/family are doing light/diet drinks, these margaritas fit right in (plus they are so easy to make with such impressive looks…who can resist one even if it’s -3F)What Do You Need for a Cranberry Orange Christmas Margarita
- Cranberry Juice (I do a mix of unsweetened and sweetened cranberry juice)
- Sparkling Orange Water
- Fresh Ginger (adds such delicious flavor)
- Tequila (use your favorite brand)
- Cranberry – fresh or frozen
- Ice
- Glass Rimmers or Coarse SeaSalt + Sugar
- Lemon/Lime for rimming the glasses
How to Make Cranberry Orange Christmas Margarita (Mistletoe Margarita):
- Okay, so once we have all the mentioned ingredients, we start by rimming the glasses (step in the recipe below).
- Then, crush the ice a little or use crushed ice (if your fridge has that option).
- Then pour the crushed ice in a giant bow/large jug.
- Add cranberry, and ginger to the bowl, and using a muddler or giant whisk crush the ingredients.
- Add cranberry juice, and tequila and stir everything.
- (If making it in advance) simply cover the bowl at this point and keep it in the fridge till later use.
- Important Tip: Now if you are serving this right away, add sparkling orange soda, and mix everything.
- Pour in glasses and decorate with sliced orange and cranberry on top.
- Serve asap.
I also recommend using a Giant Bowl or Water Jug to mix the drink and pour.
If you don’t have sparkling orange water, you can even use orange juice or any light orange soda of your choice.
Serving Suggestion:
I always like to add some fresh fruit/lime wedges to my margaritas as that not only looks pretty but makes the drink look fresher (try it once).
Also, I like using a mix of salt+sugar (sugar substitute) in rimming the glass as that adds so much flavor too.
If it’s extremely cold, you can reduce the ice and add more juice/sparkling water or simply use short glasses.
