That’s when we both agree (along with friends or family if anyone’s home), that let’s make this under 25 minutes Quick Bowtie Pesto Pasta with Zucchini and Peas together. 

Yup, nothing like cooking together especially when you both are feeling extremely lazy. So he cuts the veggies and I saute them 🙂

Also, one thing that I do many times is that I keep about 1-2 cups of pasta always cooked in the fridge. This, my friend, is the key to even quicker past recipes.

So, you get 100 points for guessing that it is bowtie pasta these days and that practically reduced the cooking time of this dish to 10 minutes.

Also, I looooove Bowtie Pasta or as many of them you call them ‘Farfalle Pasta‘.

They are so super cute and these days they have my extra attention … don’t tell me you haven’t eaten pasta straight out of the boiling pot 😉

How to Make Bowtie Pesto Pasta with Zucchini and Peas:

There is no right or wrong way to make this recipe and this is how we love it.

  1. Boil the Pasta
  2. Saute zucchini and peas together.
  3. Add cooked pasta, pesto sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Mix and saute everything for few minutes.
  5. Add Cheese and Serve Hot/Cold.

Super easy and extremely delicious.

It makes a great Cold Salad / Work Lunch or a Picnic / Patio meal too and I usually serve it with a chilled glass of white wine.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Cooked Bowtie Pasta
  • 2 Medium Zucchini, chopped into tiny pieces
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas, thawed
  • 2 Tbsp Pesto, homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 Tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 4 Tbsp Grated Cheese, use as per choice
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

How to Make Bowtie Pesto Pasta with Zucchini and Peas:

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  2. Add thawed peas and saute over medium heat for two minutes (We want the peas to cook slightly longer for extra creaminess).
  3. Now, add the chopped zucchini and saute for another 2-3 minutes over low heat.
  4. Once zucchini is nicely sauteed, add chili flakes (if using) and pesto.
  5. Give this a good mix and saute for another minute. (the pan might begin to stick a little as soon as you add pesto as it has cheese).
  6. Scrub the pan with the spatula and sure to coat the veggies with it nicely.
  7. Now add the cooked bowtie pasta and saute everything.
  8. Finally, add the Italian seasoning and cheese.
  9. Mix everything and let this cook for another minute over medium heat.
  10. Turn off the heat and transfer the pasta to a serving bowl.
  11. Sprinkle some more cheese on top and enjoy hot or cold.

    This is a favourite with the kids and so easy to put together on a busy night! It has become a repeat recipe around here for swim class night and the kids are always happy to pile on the cheese and gobble it up
