Masala Pasta Recipe ~ extremely flavorful, quick, and family favorite recipe. Perfect for weeknights and especially when you want a quick meal with minimum ingredients. Stores for 3 days in the fridge and can be eaten hot or cold.
Masala Pasta Ingredients:
The ingredients are super easy and most of them are always lying in our pantry/fridge:
- 2 Cups Cooked Pasta (use any form or variety of plain pasta you like)
- 1 Large Onion (thinly chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Grated Ginger + Garlic
- 1 Cup Peas (frozen or fresh)
- 3 Medium Tomatoes (grated) * check notes
- 4 Tbsp Spicy Tomato Ketchup (you can use ketchup + spicy sauce too)
- 1 Tbsp Garam Masala
- Salt + Chili Powder
- 1 Tsp Taco Seasoning (optional)
- 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil (for cooking)
How to Make Masala Pasta:
- This is a fairly simple recipe and extremely easy to make.
- You start by cooking the onion, ginger+garlic together.
- Then sauteeing and cooking peas.
- Then add tomato, ketchup, spices, and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add pasta, saute everything.
- Cook this for another 2-3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and serve.
Serving & Storage Suggestion:
This pasta is self-sufficient in itself as it’s extremely flavorful. However, you can always pair it with these things:
- Light Salad
- Stews
- Light Soup
For Storage, this stays in the fridge for 3 days.

Ingredients
- 2 Cups Cooked Pasta
- 1 Large Onion (thinly chopped)
- 1 Tbsp Grated Ginger + Garlic
- 1 Cup Peas (frozen or fresh)
- 3 Medium Tomatoes (grated) * check notes
- 4 Tbsp Spicy Tomato Ketchup
- 1 Tbsp Garam Masala
- Salt + Chili Powder
- 1 Tsp Taco Seasoning (optional)
- 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 3 Tbsp chopped Cilantro
Instructions
- Heat a large non-stick pan and add 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- Add chopped onion and saute for 1 minute over medium flames.
- Add grated ginger+garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
- Add peas, saute and cover with the lid. Let this cook for 2-3 minutes over low flames (till peas cook a little).
- Remove the cover and saute.
- Add grated tomatoes, spicy ketchup, and all the spices + seasoning.
- Saute everything and let this cook over low flames for 3 minutes.
- Now add cooked Pasta and saute everything.
- Cook this for 2 minutes and check for seasoning.
- Turn off the flames and transfer to a serving bowl.
- Add chopped cilantro on top and enjoy.
Notes
Cooked Pasta - use any form or variety of plain pasta you like
Spicy Tomato Ketchup - you can use ketchup + spicy sauce too
Vegetable Oil - you can use any light oil like olive, canola, sesame, etc.
