pumpkin-spice-hot-chocolate-easy!!!  Hail the Pumpkin Season  !!!

It’s that time of the year where almost everything has a pumpkin inspiration going on and I’m totally loving it !

I absolutely LOVE Pumpkin Spice flavor and what better way to start my pumpkin marathon than the Best Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate (Spiked and Regular) 🙂

Don’t worry, I’m not gonna overload you with too many pumpkin recipes but a few here and there.

As I did mention above, I’m also listing ‘How to make your own Pumpkin Spice + Hot Chocolate Mix’ at home.

And trust me it’s very easy and you can customize the spices as per your taste.

While growing up in India, I had never ever heard of pumpkin spice anything although we do have our fair share of pumpkin-inspired vegetarian recipes but never a dessert.

Until I landed in sunny California and tasted this delicious mystical drink (Pumpkin Spice Latte) – OMG …It was totally Awesome !!

pumpkin-spice-coffee-recipe

Seriously where was this all my life! It gave me such a warm almost a ‘comfort-food’ kind of feeling….it felt like home (Yep, food does give me that ‘I’m home kinda feeling’).

So, that was it, I was totally hooked on to the flavors and I’m that weird one who’s always inquiring at the coffee barista about ‘When would the pumpkin spice latte start’?

That’s exactly ‘How’ I actually started making my very own Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate at home (cause they seriously launch pumpkin spice drinks too late in the season).

Best Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate Spiked Regular

I usually make a huge amount of this drink mix, store it in an air-tight jar and enjoy it all year long (more in fall/winter season).

This also makes a great party or a fun ‘Girls Night In’ drink and can be made 2-3 hours in advance.

Just add the toppings before serving. The ‘Pumpkin Spice Mix’ is very easy to make and all you need is cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, and all-spice mix (all powder).

And you can either buy those hot chocolate mix packets from the store or make your very own by combining some good quality chocolate, sugar, and few more ingredients.

For this particular recipe, I wanted to start from scratch, so I made my own Hot chocolate Mix too and trust me all these homemade mixes smell and taste soo much better.

Now, coming to the fun part, you can try this drink with vodka/brandy/rum/baileys but I like it best with rum.

It’s the sweet combination of rum with the warm spice flavors, that complements the flavors + taste perfectly.

So, go ahead and make yourself a Spiked or the Regular version and enjoy the pumpkin flavors of the season 🙂

Did you mean a teaspoon of cinnamon? We tried to make it in a large batch, and the spice was WAY to overpowering. Although, my daughter made it in a one serving, and it was better, but still a little off.

Hi James, yes – the recipe calls for 1Tsp of Cinnamon. There was an error and I’ve just corrected it. I hope you try the recipe again soon- Thanks.
