Healthy Atta Ladoo Ingredients:

Gather the following wholesome ingredients for your atta ladoos:

Atta (Whole Wheat Flour)you can use fine or slightly coarse ground flour.

Ghee (Clarified Butter)you have to use plain ghee (no flavored ghee). You can use any lighter oil or a mix of ghee with plain lighter oil.

Sugarwe need powdered sugar but not icing sugar. You can also use jaggery or bura (brown sugar) or even sugar substitutes like stevia or monkfruit instead of white crystal sugar.

Cardamom Powderthis gives it a very earthy, sweet and slightly smoky flavor.

Mixed NutsI’m using a mix of nuts like cashews, almonds, raisins, makhana (foxnut), and chironji. You can use any nut as per choice. The are plain raw nuts that will be roasted or you can use roasted unsalted nuts.

These natural and unprocessed components form the foundation of a nutritious sweet that you can enjoy without compromising on your health.

How to Make Whole Wheat Flour Ladoo (Atta Ladoo):

  • We start by chopping the nuts into tiny pieces (can use a food processor or chopper to do the same or simply chop with a knife or scissors).

  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee (or oil, whatever you use) in a pan or kadhai (Indian wok).
  • Then add the chopped nuts and roast for 2-3 minutes on low flame till you can smell a nutty flavor and the nuts are slightly golden brown. Remove from pan and cool.
  • Add the remaining ghee and heat it. Then add crushed cardamom pods and saute once.
  • Then we add raw whole wheat flour and roast until it emanates a warm, nutty aroma and the flour looks a shade of medium-dark golden.

  • Add powdered sugar and mix well until the mixture attains a smooth consistency.
  • Toss in a generous handful of chopped nuts, providing a crunchy texture and additional nutritional value.
  • Now mix everything and turn off the heat.
  • Add 2 tbsp of melted ghee and also pat some on your palms before shaping ladoos.
  • Once the mixture is slightly warm to tough, take 2 tbsp of the mixture in the middle of your palm.
  • Using the other hand, fold and twist to shape into bite-sized ladoos (round balls – allowing your creativity to play a role in their size and form).

  • 1 Cup Raw Plain Mixed Nuts (dry fruits) - use as per choice
