No Yeast Donut – Eggless Donut Recipe
What is No Yeast Donut?
‘Absence makes you crave things More’ and it cannot be more strongly said for all the baked/restaurant meals that we are so used to.
I Miss Donuts so much and me being in India right now, there is no way I can get them home delivered šHence from the starting of the ‘stay home’ situation these days and with the scarcity of most common ingredients, I tried a couple of different batches before finalizing on this ‘No Yeast Donut – Eggless Donuts’ recipe !!!
Also known as ‘Eggless Doughnuts’ !
Yup, they are actually a thing and to be honest they are Extremely Delicious Too! We are so hooked on to them that they are made at least twice if not thrice a week (shhhh don’t scream out loud š )
We have made regular donuts at home so many times, but due to scarcity of eggs and yeast (not so readily available right now), I had to figure a way to satisfy those sugar donut cravings.
My coffee was missing our usual sugar donuts and it called for desperate measures š
Now I did coat the donuts with a generous amount of icing sugar but you can add any kind of topping/icing you like.
No Yeast Donut – Eggless Donuts Ingredients:

How to Make No Yeast Donut:
These donuts are extremely easy to make and I’m dividing the recipe into 3 parts to make it even more easier
Prepare the No Yeast – Eggless Dough:
- In a large bowl, add all the ingredients and whisk to form a rough dough.
- Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface and place the dough
- Knead for 2 minutes to remove any cracks.
If you have time, cover the dough with wet cloth n keep for 20 minutes as this helps the dough rise or soften a little.
Shape the Donuts (using everyday household items):
This was pretty challenging as right now I’m at my parent’s house in New Delhi, India and I donot have my baking/cookie molds here.
Which meant I needed a round donut shape cutter (cookie cutter works great here if you have one) and a small one for that donut whole.
- So I used 2 container lids which had sharp edges to cut through the dough:
- Using a cookie cutter/glass/cover, make circles like donut shapes.
- Using a smaller cover/cookie cutter, cut in between the circle to form a donut shape.
- Remove the excess dough (you can roll the excess dough to form more donuts).
Frying the Eggless Donut:
- Heat oil in a deep pan/wok.
- Now gently lift the donut-shaped dough and add in hot oil (2-3 max in a pot).
- Fry them both sides on low heat until golden brown.
- Transfer the cooked donut to a paper towel (to soak any excess oil)
- Fry all the donuts and place on paper towel.

No Yeast Fried Donut
Transfer the hot donut to a plate and sprinkle powdered sugar or coat with favorite icing.
Serve fresh and enjoy

Extra Tips for Soft Donuts:
If you are scared to make no-yeast or eggless donut then you are in for a treat and quite a surprise cause these Donuts will change your mind.
Thy are soft, crispy on the outside and all that is achieved by the dough mix of milk, yogurt, baking soda + baking powder.
These ingredients together makes a perfect dough for crispy deep-fried or even baked donuts.
If you donot have milk+yogurt, you can use buttermilk for the same quantity.
