So, here I’m participating in those celebrations and creating these ‘local San Francisco chef inspired’ creation using the LA VICTORIA® Cilantro Salsa and Fire Roasted Whole Green Chillies.

Now, Mexican food is definitely one of my all time favorite cuisine and the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Mexican food, are colorful and fresh ingredients.

Also, most of the recipes are quick, delicious and bursting with flavors.

Hence, these Duck Taco with Spicy Orange-Cherry Salsa is a perfect recipe for the occasion as it combines both San Francisco flavors and LA VICTORIA® products.


Now, if you don’t eat ‘duck’ you can replace it with chicken, turkey or any other meat of choice.

Also, I absolutely love this Spicy Orange-Cherry Salsa and would highly recommend that you try it as it’s so flavorful and made using simple summer ingredients.

The green chili adds that much-needed kick to the sweet oranges and cherry.

Duck Taco with Spicy Orange-Cherry Salsa


Delicious taco recipe with a Mexican style marinade along with an easy summer salsa using fresh orange and cherry.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes


  • 1/2 Cup Duck Confit or cooked boneless duck meat - thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Cup LA VICTORIA® Cilantro Salsa Mild
  • 1 Cup Spicy Orange-Cherry Salsa
  • 1/2 Cup Mexican Marinade
  • 1/2 Cup Avocado Mousse
  • 8 Small Tortilla
  • Cilantro Leaves - for decoration

For Spicy Orange Cherry Salsa:

  • 8 segments Orange - sliced.
  • 4 Tbsp Red Onion - finely chopped
  • 1 Tsp LA VICTORIA® Fired Roasted Chiles
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Cherries - Pitted and Diced
  • 2Tbsp Jicama - chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3 tbs Lime Juice

For Mexican Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Shallots
  • 1 tbs Salt
  • Pinch Black Pepper
  • Pinch Cayenne Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Wine Vinegar

For Avocado Mousse:

  • 1 Avocado, ripe
  • 1/2 Small Garlic Clove, minced
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt



! Orange Cherry Salsa:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mix and keep aside.

! Mexican Marinade:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mix and keep aside.

! Avocado Mousse:

In a bowl, mash the avocado along with all ingredient and form a paste like consistency.


Add Mexican Marinate to Spicy Orange-Cherry Salsa and mix.

Take a tortilla and spear 1tsp avocado mousse in the middle of it.

Place few strings of duck sliced duck meat.

Top with spicy orange-cherry salsa.

Top with Cilantro Salsa and fresh cilantro leaves.

Serve Fresh.

    I like a recipe that can can be delicious with any protein. That salsa sounds marvelous. And the avocado mousse is really over the top. 5 stars!

    Duck is one of my favorite proteins, difficult to make but so good. Those tacos looks amazing I wish I could try one. La Victoria is a great brand and their products are very authentic Mexican

    Wow!! When I think of tacos I think of them more as street food. But my goodness you’ve taken street food and turned it gourmet. Sounds absolutely delicious. Wish duck meat were more available around here. Now, ducks wander around our neighborhood but I don’t think the people that encourage the ducks around their pond would appreciate us grabbing them for dinner. Great recipe!!

    I LOVE duck, and I LOVE tacos…so this is a win for me. I just found a new butcher who carries duck on a regular basis. I know what I am going to get next time I visit the store…and these will be happening in my kitchen for sure.

    Cilantro is my favorite herb of choice. So Salsa with Cilantro is my favorite! Love the taco recipe Molly. Sounds so refreshing!! Never had duck taco before so can’t wait to try this.
