Shrimp Ghee Roast - Indian Shrimp

Shrimp Ghee Roast – Indian Shrimp

This Shrimp Ghee Roast recipe is an extremely popular Indian recipe that has slightly different steps/ingredients as you travel from south-north India, however, the one thing which is constant is ‘It’s Fingerlicking Good’!

Also, what differentiates this recipe from any other shrimp recipes you might have eaten or heard of, is “Ghee”.

It’s the ONE Constant Ingredient that never changes, although you can use any kind of shrimp/slight changes in all other ingredients but Ghee is a Must.

Did you know that You Can easily use Ghee wherever you use Butter and experience the amazing flavors and taste.

So when Ghee is a Must, I always choose the best kind and I’m using 4th & Heart Ghee – Original Ghee for my recipe, which I found in my local Walmart, refrigerated section.

All 4th & Heart products are of the highest quality with superior taste and powerful certifications (non-GMO, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Keto).

I also love its smooth texture and light ghee fragrance.

If you have never cooked with ghee, then you are in for a treat, that not only pleases your palette but soul too.

So what is Ghee and Where All Can You Use it?

Ghee is a type of clarified butter that is heated and reduced to this golden magical-fragrant liquid. Which is pure healthy fat – lactose-free, dairy-free and good for digestion and metabolism?

I use this ghee in any recipe that calls for whole butter or even on toasts at times. It’s infact Perfect to add to your butter coffee or even fat bombs (keto diet).

Add it in curry’s/ lentils or even sautéed veggies for that extra flavor and aroma.

You can also make pasta/bone-broth or any kind of soups using ghee as a base or any dish that requires you to cook on high heat as Ghee has a higher cooking point.

I even slather some on hot rotis or steamed rice. Infact ghee+steamed rice is what many of us grew up eating along with dal/curry.

So, you generally get the idea now that it’s pretty delicious, multi-functional and adds lot of flavors to any dish. Now, let’s get back to our recipe.

Serving & Storing Shrimp Ghee Roast:

I love eating this recipe with a bowl of steamed rice or quinoa (as below). For my Keto friends, these pairs amazingly with sautéed cauliflower rice or zoodles too.

I’ve also served this with dinner rolls/ focaccia bread/ pasta or just a plain salad

You can store this recipe in the fridge upto 3 days. Just reheat in the microwave and serve.

If re-heating, adding fresh cilantro on top gives it a fresher look.
