Benefit of Afternoon Work Break with Simply Pure: 15 minutes afternoon break can do wonders for us and our system. It not only improves mood but also our cognitive function & helps in better concentration.

So let’s make it a great one along with a cup of relaxing coffee with International Delight Simply Pure Creamer, eating a light snack, doing some exercise/meditation or listening to relaxing music.

Benefit of Afternoon Work Break with Simply Pure

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for few minutes …including you !!! I’m a firm believer of this quote and today, that’s exactly what we are talking about ‘Benefits of Afternoon Work Break with Simply Pure’.

Now, most of us work 7-8hrs a day and then depending on our other responsibility we might need to work some extra hours at home (doing home stuff or work) and if you work from home (like me), I would say…let’s just not count the hours, as I feel, we are perpetually in front of our laptop.

Working on that last email or that last-minute thing which just takes forever and the result is a completely tired body n soul.

I’ve been on these roads many times before until I decided to make some changes that benefitted not only me but also my work.

I just decided to take 10-15 minutes break every 2hrs of work. I know sounds impossible but try slowly and you’ll see the difference.coffee-break

NO-GADGET BREAK:

When I say ‘Take a Break’ it means completely unplugging you from your work/anything that you’re doing and absolutely ‘NO-GADGET’ policy.

It’s very important for our mind to feel relax as a relaxed mind, helps us concentrate better…

if you don’t know what to do to relax the mind, just think of a quite beach with brightest of the blue water and cool breeze…Doesn’t that sound relaxing!

NIBBLE ON LIGHT SNACKS:

Okay, this one is probably my favorite (you do remember I’m a BIG time snacker), and we are talking all healthy nibbles like fresh fruits, nuts, light but wholesome sandwiches, bars or any other light snack.

I usually make fresh sandwiches or cut fruits and stack them in the fridge for later. And yes, they need to look pretty as we all eat with our eyes….today I made these delicious coffee-time sandwiches with flavored butter and cucumber.

Favorite Beverage of Choice:

Once the nibbles are ready, I start my day with a huge cup of coffee and I love using ‘International Delight’s Simply Pure Coffee Creamer Caramel‘ (which includes only 5 simple ingredients) and makes such a great tasting creamer for everyday coffee.

Infact, I usually drink 2-3 cups of this everyday.

Light to Medium Exercise:

This one was the toughest to start with as seriously, I had every excuse in the book to not get up in between work. But it is so important to take 10 minutes walking break for every 2 hours that we sit.

A light exercise (yes, chair exercise count too) / yoga or even walking helps our system evenly circulate blood/oxygen in the whole body which results in relaxed nerves and fresh mind.

Nowadays, I try and take out 15 minutes and go out for a brisk walk and it seriously refreshes me.

Move Away From Work Desk:

This one is so important as the moment we step away from our workspace, it automatically relaxes our body. It’s also very very important if you work from home, as a change of pace sometimes result in better thinking or idea development.

I try and take my afternoon coffee+nibbles outside in the porch or garden and yes, I do leave my cell near the laptop. importance of break

Flower or Aroma Therapy:

Another thing that’s a part of my break and my desk space is flowers and some light scented candles as it tremendously helps to lighten up your mood and helps relieve stress.

Hence, I always try including them even in my break time.

A Quick Nap:

Now this is truly a luxurious one but to us ‘work from home’ people, it might be a possibility at times.

I’m not talking a deep 20-30minutes nap but a quick power nap of 5-10minutes, which shows improvement in afternoon fatigue, loss of interest and even cognitive performance.

My last office actually had a break room, where people used to actually just sit and take powernap. I know this one is tough but hey give it a try someday 🙂

Before I leave, you can find my favorite International Delight’s Simply Pure Coffee Creamer at Walmart and they come in Three Flavors: (to please every palate)

a break is something everyone should remember to take. even if it’s just a short walk around the block to refresh.

Coffee is a must for my breaks! I love that this creamer is all natural. I used to love getting outside and some fresh air during my work breaks! It always helped revive me and get me through the rest of the day.

Absolutely true Amber and going outside to catch some fresh air is a great idea for a short break. Thanks for visiting.

When I worked in an office, I was much better about taking breaks – mostly for the water cooler conversations, but still. I took them. Now that I work from home, I don’t take breaks as often as I should. I’m working on it though! Great tips! #client

Thanks Emily. That’s so true that when we work at an office, taking a break becomes so much easier and at home it’s almost impossible at times. I’m glad you liked the tips & Thanks for visiting 🙂

When I worked in an office, I always took breaks – mostly for the water cooler conversations, but still. It helped to recharge me. Now that I work from home, I find that I don’t take as many breaks as I should. I’m working on it, though. These tips are great!

15min breaks sure help reset the clock and my state of mind, I often opt to watch something light in addition to all the great points you have made. Those snacks are making me hungry Molly 😉

This is such great advice. I know I personally have been needing a 15-30 minute nap after work just to make it through all of my school/blog/home related tasks in the evenings. I totally agree about having a go-to beverage. Right now, mine is green tea and I swear I can conquor the world so long as I’ve had my tea

I am a BIG believer in breaks. When I work as a Dental Hygienist, it’s really hard to get them. When I’m home blogging, I really try to enforce them. I haven’t tried fancy snacks like that though. They look delicious!

Thanks Angie, glad you liked the post.
